Surrealism...

Nikon D3000 F-Stop f/4
Exposure Time 1/1000 sec
ISO Speed ISO-100
Taken: 09/03/2012 11:45pm

This is the photograph showing surrealism; it is big ben standing entwined next to the traffic lights, in the same proportion to one another, something which is of course not the norm.

This was the starting point of the editing

Next i changed the hue and saturation so it was a bold and bright colour in comparison to the brown and grey of London’s buildings, I was inspired of the idea of bold & bright colours from the surreal artist Sandy Skoglund http://www.sandyskoglund.com/. This artist uses weird and wacky ideas and uses bold and bright colours so that’s why I chose to use hue and saturation in the editing process.

Then for it to be really surreal I decided to use twirl effect in the distort filter so it would fit the idea of surrealism

This was the final outlook of the photo after the editing process, I added final touches of brightness and contrast and this was the finished product showing surrealism in London.

Genre -Fashion

Fashion Photography

This Photo was captured in the moment 9/03/2012 1:33pm. It is depicting the genre of fashion, the reasons this photo is able to show this genre effectively is because of its bold characteristic showing the colours, the movement and the pose of the model in the photograph. Everything works well but the factor that works the best, I would say is the colour scheme of the model's outfit and the blue sky with clouds and the water including the movement of the water from the fountain. The fashion message for this photo is a powerful one. Independent woman being dominating. The Exposure Time Nikon D300- 1/250 sec,F-stop -f/8 & ISO Speed- ISO -100

Landscapes...

Claude Monet's Landscape Painting

The photo below is of the River Thames at Westminster on 9/03/2012 12:10pm , It was used to recreate Monet's landscape painting above, he was using impressionism to show perceptions before nature i.e the sunrise, I am not sure even after research as to where the painting was painted, I do however, think it may have been the River thames which is where I captured the photograph taken below. This photo was taken with a Nikon D3000 the f/stop was 10, the exposure time 1/250 & the ISO Speed-  ISO-100 the photo was lightly edited using a warming orange photo filter on photoshop to give a nostalgic look of a warm summers day, which is what Monet tried to depict in his landscape painting above.
